Today while working yet another shift at my second job, I took a call that unfortunately has become far too common. We received a call from a man stating he needed a police officer due to his sixteen year old son acting unruly. Really? You want me to tie up a police officer to come to your home and discipline your child? What the hell is wrong with people today?
When I was growing up, if I ever got to the point of being unruly my father would of knocked me out before he would've called 911. I wasn't a perfect kid growing up, but my parents instilled enough manners and respect into me that I would never dream of going toe to toe with them. By the time I was in middle school I was bigger and stronger than my father, but still had enough fear and respect that I wouldn't test his limits.
If your child has gotten to the point that you can't control them, you have failed. Some where along the line you lost control. Some where you have failed to properly discipline your child and they have lost respect for you.
Now obviously there are legitimate psychological defects your child could have been born with but most times it is because you didn't care enough to bust their ass when they needed it.
